Reliability is about more than just maintaining plant and equipment. It is about maintaining functionality and performance standards. In an industrial context, maintenance is about survival!
Both the "long-term" and the "short-term" perspectives are important if maintenance is to be done well.
Both the "Big Picture" and the shop floor circumstances need to be taken into consideration.
